I have a seeming obsession with tedious & time consuming practices and tatting lace is one of my favorites! Each of these motifs is a piece of handmade tatted lace, which is a process of using a shuttle to hold the thread while you make different series of slide knots to create the piece. (this is a very simple way to explain it lol) I make each piece of lace out of cotton cordonnet thread and then finish them using a strong fabric stiffener so they will hold their shape!
All of these earrings are made out of cotton thread, fabric stiffener, and metal findings. All ear wires are surgical steel.
